One Saturday we joined all the tourists out at Windsor Castle. You can tell how touristy a place is in England by the number of "Ye Olde" shops and stands selling Union Jack flags. The State Rooms of Windsor Castle, refurbished after the fire, are very impressive and not as gaudy as we thought they would be. St. George's Chapel inside the castle walls was interesting architecturally and historically.

When Alyssa's Dad visited in October, we went to Hampton Court Palace in Southwest London (no "Ye Olde" shops here for the English tourists). The immense palace with its restored state rooms also has refurbished the massive kitchen to what it would have been like hundreds of years ago. It was pretty impressive. There are some very bizarre trees out back that look like giant gum drops and a fun maze!
