Norway is amazing! I went to Norway for a couple of weeks to visit my friend Anne Marthe. That's a picture of her on the Aker-Brygge, a port and shopping area in Oslo near the fortress. Anne Marthe showed me the sights of Oslo and invited me to stay at her parents' farm in Sandefjord. There we went walking at the mouth of the fjord. Sandefjord is also a famous whaling city, with a very cool whaling monument/fountain and interesting whaling museum.

For two days I left Oslo and Anne Marthe and took a train to Bergen. The scenery was amazing. We were so high up that there were no trees and everything had such a strange green tint to it. I took the Flam railway down through the mountain valley and past waterfalls to the Sognefjord. There I rode the ferry, which also doubled as a mail ferry (that's what that crown represents in the middle of the flag).

Bergen was great too! As you can tell by my pictures it was sunny. Bergen is like Seattle - it is known for it's heavy rainfall. Those colorfully painted buildings on Bryggen Street date from medieval times. Right down the street from those buildings is a large fish market selling all sorts of fish and seafood. The smell was so overpowering, and I have never seen so much fish!
