After the time trail in Rennes, we went to Rouen.  We wanted to see the cathedral made famous by Money's paintings.  In the early 1890's he painted over thirty canvases of the facade of the cathedral from a studio across the square.  The paintings showed how light and shadow played across the gothic front.  The evening we arrived we watched a light show on the cathedral facade that was inspired by Monet's interest on how light affects our perception of objects.
We spent the afternoon wandering around Rouen and visiting the art museum there, where they have one of Monet's cathedral paintings.  We had dinner on the square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, while watching the World Cup Final of France vs. Italy.
