One afternoon while we were in Amsterdam, we took the train to Zaanse Schanse, an open air museum with working windmills and a clog factory. 

It was fascinating to see how the windmills were used to extract oil from seeds and make dye for paint as well as milling grain.

We enjoyed pancakes for lunch and then went to try on some clogs.
